Sustainable Floridians Program

Florida is growing. Will our water keep up?

By 2070, it’s projected that Florida will welcome 15 million new residents. With those 15 million new Floridians will come a projected 54% increase in water demand.

The Sustainable Floridians program was created to guide citizens on taking individual responsibility for protecting our limited resources, especially our water. Through education and discussion, the program helped Floridians make their households and communities more resilient.

Expanding the Sustainable Floridians Community

With the state’s rapid growth, it’s clear that a wider aim is needed. To make real change, individual households need the support of their homeowner associations and community leaders. They need infrastructure capable of implementing conservation and efficiency actions.

The Sustainable Floridians program is restructuring and setting a new course to promote the adoption of best design, construction, and management practices that measurably reduce energy and water consumption and environmental degradation in Florida’s master-planned community developments.
