Jay Capasso is the northeast Florida regional specialized extension agent focusing on water resources. He is based at the UF/IFAS North Florida Research and Education Center – Suwannee Valley in Live Oak. Jay educates stakeholders and county faculty on agricultural best management practices related to nutrient management and irrigation. Previously, he served as the row crop extension agent at UF/IFAS Extension Columbia County. Currently a doctoral candidate in the UF soil, water and ecosystem sciences department, Jay holds a bachelor’s degree in international agriculture and rural development from Cornell University and a master’s degree in soil and water sciences from the University of Florida.
